Who we are looking for:
We are seeking an enthusiastic, passionate, and motivated Associate Process Engineer I/Associate Scientist I to join our exciting and dynamic company in our mission to develop novel targeted therapies for serious disease. The successful candidate will be key in developing robust and optimized manufacturing processes for novel gene edited therapies. This position will be in the Process Development group and will collaborate cross-functionally with research, manufacturing, analytical development, and quality teams.
Key areas of responsibilities:
- Design and conduct studies to optimize CAR-T and eHSC manufacturing processes
- Perform primary human cell isolation, activation, gene-editing, and cell culture
- Maintain high-quality batch record and electronic lab notebook (ELN) documentation
- Draft SOPs, study protocols, and technical reports
- Analyze experiment data and interpret results
- Perform problem-solving as necessary, and work with the team to identify and implement new technologies and equipment for process improvement
- Support the routine operation of the Process Development lab, including installation and maintenance of equipment
- Contribute to the execution of technology transfers to the CGMP manufacturing team
- Effectively present experiment results to key stakeholders
Skills and requirements:
- BS in Biology, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, or related degree
- 6 months to 1 year of experience in a biology, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical field
- Experience with mammalian cell culture is preferred
- Knowledge of cell analysis assays such as cell counting and flow cytometry
- Basic understanding of CGMP requirements
- Experience with data analysis and analysis software such as GraphPad Prism or JMP
- Action oriented mindset driven by strong and creative problem-solving skills
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently in a startup environment to consistently deliver exceptional results
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Great attention to detail and organizational ability
