Job Description

The Senior Manager/Associate Director, Payroll (temp to perm), will supervise payroll functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing in compliance with regulations. Documentation for key controls and equity management will also be managed.

Responsibilities

* Manage payroll implementation and operations for efficiency and customer service. * Collaborate with HR on payroll functions, including employee data and benefit management. * Ensure compliance with SOX controls and act as a payroll law and tax regulations expert. * Review and resolve payroll discrepancies for accuracy. * Coordinate tax filings and payments with ADP. * Set up new tax accounts as needed and resolve complex payroll issues. * Process off-cycle items like bonuses and equity transactions. * Generate monthly and ad-hoc reports, including W2s and 401K reconciliation. * Support SOX control documentation and special payroll projects. * Lead payroll integration for new company acquisitions. * Assist with equity transaction processing and reporting.

Required Skills

* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, HR, or related field preferred. * 7+ years of multi-state, multi-entity payroll management experience. * Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is advantageous. * Expertise in payroll functions, taxes, acquisition integration, and system implementation. * Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now and E*TRADE systems is a plus. * Strong Excel skills with analytical and problem-solving abilities. * Passion for process improvement, independent work, and collaboration. * Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven. * Experience in fast-growing or startup environments is preferred.
