Job Description

We are seeking for a self-motivated individual with at least 5 years of business development experience who will be managing all aspects of business activities, including in- and out-licensing discussions, identifying market trends, and assessing market potential to develop strategies to achieve company goals. This position reports to the director of business development and CEO and is office-based in San Diego, CA. Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as strong organizational skills are essential. Flexibility and adapt ability are also necessary. 



·         Actively prospecting for new business that meets the current strategic focus.

·         Responsible for in- and out-licensing activities through virtual teleconferences and on-site customer visits worldwide. 

·         Organizing business meetings with prospective clients. Presenting and promoting the company’s product pipeline/drug candidates for collaborations. 

·         Identifying market trends and assessing market potential to develop strategies for licensing and business opportunities. 

·         Conducting market evaluation for product assessment and valuation analysis. 

·         Management of due diligence licensing opportunities/activities including handling of electronic data, coordination, and distribution of key materials to diligence teams, tracking of diligence progress, etc. 

·         Project management across functional teams including clinical, preclinical, CMC, finance and legal operations.

·         Developing and reviewing business agreements including term sheets, licensing agreements, supply agreements and legal documentation for transactions. 


Required Skills

  • BSc/BA in business administrationbiology or life science with MBA preferred. 

·         At least 5 years of business development experience in a biotech/pharmaceutical environment

·         Demonstrated experience in the development of business strategies for licensing and/or international collaborations, external alliance in Biopharma.

·         Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and project management software.

·         Effective communication (written, verbal, and interpersonal), adaptability, self-motivation, and strong organizational skills.

·         Broad and in-depth knowledge of biopharmaceutical industry including discovery, development, regulatory and commercial processes.

·         Time management, project management and planning skills
