Join a team as a Senior Associate Scientist. You'll play a key role in developing next-generation gene therapies for metabolic diseases, focusing on diabetes treatment. Responsibilities include generating and evaluating novel transgene constructs and developing cell-based assays to assess their performance. Responsibilities

  • Clone transgene constructs and generate sequence-verified plasmid DNA.
  • Maintain and culture various cell lines.
  • Screen transgene construct expression and performance.
  • Develop and apply molecular and cell-based assays (e.g., PCR, ELISA, western blot, flow cytometry).
  • Assist in AAV production, purification, and QC.
  • Apply assays to ex vivo and in vivo studies as needed.
  • Analyze experimental data and summarize results.
  • Maintain a comprehensive Electronic Lab Notebook.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.
  • Bring a "can do" spirit to work and take on additional responsibilities as needed.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Biology or related discipline.
  • Bachelor's with 5+ years or Master's with 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Biotech, pharmaceutical, or medical device industry experience preferred.
  • Prior vocational experience (Co-Ops, Internships, Fellowships) a plus.
  • Proficient in all stages of molecular plasmid cloning.
  • Experience with oligo and plasmid design software (e.g., SnapGene, Benchling).
  • Skilled in PCR amplification, gel electrophoresis, DNA restriction and ligation, bacterial transformation, and colony screening.
  • Experience with Sanger sequencing, DNA/RNA/protein isolation, and nucleic acid handling.
  • Proficient in protein analysis (e.g., ELISA, Western blot) and cell-based assays (e.g., flow cytometry).
  • Cell culture work experience (e.g., maintenance, transfection, transduction).
  • AAV production and electronic lab notebook documentation experience preferred.
  • Proven track record in high-growth, dynamic organizations.
  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity, innovation, and creative problem-solving.
  • Ability to lead fast-paced projects with urgency.
  • Team player with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highest levels of professionalism and ethical standards.
  • Less than 5% travel required.
