The Senior/Principal Associate Scientist will support the development of novel siRNA designs to enhance activity and specificity for RNAi-based therapeutics. This role involves collaborating across teams to optimize key siRNA features, including structure, design, and chemistry. The position is lab-based, requiring expertise in techniques such as cell culture, molecular biology (qPCR, DNA/RNA extraction, etc.), and biochemistry (enzyme kinetics, assay development, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of next-generation RNAi platforms by building on existing knowledge of RNAi trigger mechanisms.
  • Conduct literature reviews to identify design and chemical modifications for enhancing RNAi therapeutics.
  • Perform in vitro and biochemical assays to evaluate, troubleshoot, and optimize siRNA activity and specificity.
  • Collaborate with screening and disease-focused teams to support lead optimization through cell-based assays.
  • Present experimental plans and findings in team meetings.
  • Document experimental procedures and results in an electronic lab notebook (ELN).

Required Skills

  • B.S. or M.S. in Biology, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, or a related field with at least 3 years (M.S.) or 5 years (B.S.) of post-graduate experience.
  • Proficiency in mammalian cell culture and sterile technique in a BSL2 environment required.
  • Experience in RNAi or RNA biology is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of NGS library preparation is a plus.
  • Familiarity with biochemical methods for analyzing RNA-protein interactions is advantageous.
  • Experience with high-throughput techniques and protein purification is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
