The Senior Supply Chain & Production Planner is responsible for overseeing production planning, supply chain coordination, and logistics management to ensure efficient material flow between the OEM, third-party logistics (3PL) providers, and customers. This role involves demand forecasting, inventory management, supplier coordination, and ensuring timely and cost-effective shipments. The ideal candidate has experience in production planning, supply chain operations, and logistics, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to optimize end-to-end supply chain efficiency.

Responsibilities

Production & Supply Chain Planning:

  • Develop and execute production and supply plans to align with customer demand and business objectives.
  • Utilize ERP/MRP systems to manage production schedules, material requirements, and capacity planning.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing, procurement, and quality teams to ensure on-time production and inventory availability.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to balance supply continuity and cost efficiency.
  • Lead cross-functional supply chain planning meetings to drive alignment across departments.

Logistics & Distribution Management:

  • Oversee the movement of materials and finished goods between the OEM, third-party logistics (3PL) providers, and customers.
  • Work with Supply Chain Specialist to manage shipping schedules.
  • Address logistics challenges proactively to prevent supply disruptions and shipment delays.
  • Work with 3PL providers to improve warehouse efficiency, order fulfillment accuracy, and on-time delivery.

Supplier Coordination:

  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely procurement and delivery of raw materials and components.
  • Work cross functionally to understand both commercial and clinical demand forecasts and optimize supply chain responsiveness.
  • Develop and maintain supplier and logistics performance metrics, ensuring high service levels.

Process Improvement & Compliance:

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance supply chain efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Utilize data analytics to drive decision-making and improve demand forecasting accuracy.
  • Establish and track KPIs such as on-time delivery, inventory turnover, and logistics costs.
  • Analyze transaction histories as needed to arrive at root cause for inventory inaccuracies.  
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, quality standards, and internal company policies.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or a related field.
  • 10-15 years of experience in supply chain planning, logistics, and production planning in a manufacturing environment.
  • Expertise in Excel   
  • Experience working with third-party logistics providers and coordinating shipments across multiple locations.
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Strong understanding of international and domestic shipping, customs, and freight logistics.
  • Excellent problem-solving, and analytical skills.
