Job Description
Job Summary
The Senior Research Technologist will work on research projects involving both in vitro and in vivo investigation of novel small molecule inhibitors in the treatment of leukemia, as well as development of transgenic animal models of leukemia. The successful candidate will also perform highly complex, customized assays to assess minimal residual disease (MRD) status, gene expression, and genotyping of leukemia patient specimens. This will include the isolation, processing, banking, and analysis of peripheral blood, bone marrow, and apheresis samples. The candidate will be expected to work independently under minimal supervision of staff and faculty to plan, design, and execute experiments, adapt existing procedures to the needs of the project, troubleshoot, and to contribute intellectually to the project.
Responsibilities
Conduct experiments for projects investigating new experimental therapeutics in leukemias.
Maintain lab supplies, managing IBC and IACUC protocols.
Supervise junior technicians for troubleshooting technical issues.
Correlative studies including BH3 profiling and MRD analysis on clinical trial samples.
Applies research principles and relevant subject matter knowledge relevant to administer a research project. With a moderate level of direction, manages lab and/or research-related duties and tasks. Helps develop, design and conduct research projects according to plan.
Supports data collection and analytical needs of research projects. Conducts literature reviews and helps write reports and manuscripts. Ensures project compliance with different policies, procedures, directives, and mandates.
Performs other related work as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.—
Work Experience:
Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline.—

Education:
Advanced degree.
Experience:
Experience in molecular biology techniques as well as murine models of disease (oral gavage, IV tail vein injections, transgenic animal breeding and genotyping).
