Job Description
One of our favorite Biotech clients is seeking a dynamic and innovative Senior Director of Pharmacology to join their Development team. In this pivotal role, you will lead pharmacology efforts, driving late-stage drug development and playing an integral part in business development initiatives. Your contributions will be crucial in advancing our mission to deliver new treatments to patients more rapidly and efficiently through our cutting-edge, tech-enabled drug development platform. This role reports directly to the VP of Translational Medicine and positions you as a key player within the organization.
Responsibilities
* Provide pharmacology expertise in due diligence efforts for potential in-licensing opportunities. * Collaborate closely with Clinical Development, Toxicology, and Clinical Pharmacology teams to ensure cohesive and integrated development strategies. * Offer scientific leadership in interactions with regulatory agencies and external partners. * Implement innovative approaches to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of pharmacology studies. * Manage resources, timelines, and budgets for pharmacology activities * Lead the pharmacology team in supporting late-stage drug development across multiple therapeutic areas, primarily executed through Contract Research Organizations (CROs). * Design and oversee pharmacology studies to support clinical development and regulatory submissions. * Mentor and develop the pharmacology team, fostering a culture of scientific excellence and innovation. * Represent the companies pharmacology capabilities at scientific conferences and partner meetings. * Contribute to the preparation of regulatory documents, including INDs, NDAs, and briefing documents.
Required Skills
* PhD in Pharmacology or a related field with at least 10 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. * Proven track record in leading pharmacology efforts in late-stage drug development. * Deep understanding of regulatory requirements for pharmacology studies in clinical development. * Experience in due diligence activities for in-licensing opportunities. * Excellent communication and leadership skills. * Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. * Innovative mindset with a passion for leveraging technology in drug development. * Thorough knowledge of drug development and clinical research principles, practices, and regulations. * A critical thinker who challenges legacy assumptions in clinical research and reimagines processes from the ground up. * Embraces open conversations and challenges to status quo thinking. * Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly
