 We are seeking energetic, motivated scientists to join our team in developing these new technologies and who are unwavering in their commitment to making an impact on patients' lives. As an early member, you will help shape our scientific foundation and company culture.

We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Senior Bioinformatics Scientist to develop and implement NGS workflows based around a wide range of experiments. In this role, you will establish a cloud-based framework to analyze a variety of sequencing data including transcriptomics, whole genome sequencing, and genome editing outcomes, and work with bench scientists on experimental strategy and design. An ideal candidate will have extensive experience analyzing sequencing experiments, strong collaborative coding skills, and be comfortable working in high-throughput and cloud-based environments. You will apply your experience and skills with a team of diverse scientists to engineer next-generation gene delivery and editing technologies. This position can be either hybrid, or fully remote with occasional travel to Boston.


  • Implement cloud-based bioinformatics pipelines to analyze a wide range of ‘omics data types

  • Develop and deploy novel analysis workflows to maximize gene editing discoveries

  • Collaborate with bench scientists to optimize pipeline and experimental design

  • Integrate computational pipelines with automation and wet lab workflows

  • Lead collaborative computational team coding efforts through git

  • Coordinate with various teams to scale, manage and analyze data generated by sequencing

  • Communicate findings and results, and maintain strong code documentation

  • Contribute to the evolution of our new gene editing platform

  • Actively participate in discussions about data and research directions with the team and cross-functional groups

Required Skills

  • PhD or equivalent in Bioinformatics or related field with 2+ years of relevant work experience or Master’s degree with 4+ years of relevant work experience

  • Broad experience with bioinformatics tools and NGS analysis pipelines; CRISPR amplicon workflows a plus

  • Experience analyzing a wide variety of ‘omics data, including genomic, metagenomic, and transcriptomic data

  • Fluent in one or more coding languages; Python a plus

  • Experience with workflow managers (e.g. Nextflow, Snakemake, Luigi), Docker, and high-throughput and/or cloud computing

  • Experience with version control (git) and software development in a shared environment

  • Record of scientific excellence demonstrated by industry and/or academic project work experience

  • Strong organizational and communication skills 

  • Self-motivated, adaptable team player excited to work for a small but growing organization IND-1
