Job Description

Research summary:
We study auditory coding and processing using in vivo methods such as two-photon imaging, optogenetics, inner ear drug/gene delivery, and hearing physiology recording. Our primary focus is to understand the receptive properties of peripheral sound encoding, where the auditory circuit begins, and to further explore the circuit map that leads to the midbrain and auditory cortex. Qualifications:
– The postdoc position requires a Ph.D. or an equivalent degree in neuroscience or related fields, along with the requirement of one or more first-author, peer-reviewed publications. Experience in two-photon in vivo imaging or hearing research is highly desirable, but not required.
– The research assistant position requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a broad field of biology. Candidates who are interested in PhD programs at WashU are encouraged to apply.
