Job Description

We are looking for a Scientist/Sr. Scientist with expertise in genome analysis and cellular phenotyping to join our off-target group. The candidate will develop and implement assays to evaluate genomic and structural off- and on-target events in gene editing. This role involves close collaboration with disease programs to inform lead candidate selection. The ideal candidate will have substantial NGS experience, gene editing exposure, and a deep understanding of assay development. Advanced analytical skills and the ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and validate assays (including NGS assays) to measure off- and on-target consequences of gene editing.
  • Provide cellular phenotyping and NGS expertise to develop comprehensive cell biological and genomic assays.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create methods for selecting development candidates.
  • Deliver reproducible and impactful results under tight timelines.
  • Adhere to laboratory safety requirements and assist in maintaining lab functionality.
  • Author, review, and approve protocols, SOPs, technical documents, and reports for regulatory submissions.

Required Skills

  • PhD with relevant academic/industry experience or BSc/MSc with 5+ years of industry experience
  • Proficient in molecular biology techniques: NGS, DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, and Sanger sequencing
  • Experience with end-to-end NGS experiments (e.g., mRNA-seq, ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq)
  • Familiarity with cell culture techniques: transfection, cell line generation, genomic DNA and RNA isolation
  • Experience in genomic structure analysis in gene editing or long read sequencing is a plus
  • Experience with histological samples, biodistribution studies, or AAV analysis is a plus
  • Interest in computational analysis or data handling is a substantial plus
  • Ability to lead, work independently, and collaborate effectively
  • Strong communication skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
