Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Immunology, Cogen is looking for an accomplished, creative and independent Scientist/Senior Scientist, Molecular Biology to join the Discovery Team and assume a key role in driving strategy and execution of discovery programs towards clinical applications of Cogen proprietary immune medicines.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop novel approaches aimed at identifying and characterizing antigen-specific T cells and their interaction with cognate antigen
  • Design experimental plans, execute experiments, generate and analyze data, and communicate data to scientific team and executive management

Coordinate projects and experiments with other scientists and research associates, provide leadership for research associates and oversee day to day activities

  • Lead and collaborate with other scientists and research associates to achieve company objectives
  • Lead contact for multiple CROs

Maintain and implement good laboratory practices, including accurate laboratory notebook systems, instrument and reagent validation, and personnel safety precautions.
Work closely with Data Science and Cellular Immunology teams

Required Skills

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in molecular biology, epigenetics, biochemistry, or related fields
  • A minimum of two years’ experience with molecular biology and biochemical techniques, including molecular cloning, lentiviral packaging, transduction and transfection. Prior work with T cell receptors is a strong plus
  • Ability to deliver on key milestones within defined timelines
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and quickly changing environment
  • Prior experience in biotech/pharma industry is desired

Preferred Qualifications:

  • In depth experience in single-cell genomics, functional genomics or immunology / immune repertoires
  • Experience with immunoprecipitation, SDS-PAGE, qPCR and biochemical assays is a plus
  • Independent thinker capable of leading a multidisciplinary team
  • A strong desire to build game-changing technologies and impact the world of life science research
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
