Job Description

Our client is seeking a highly skilled, driven, and motivated scientist for the RNA production and characterization team. This role is an exciting opportunity to support the evaluation of various RNA design candidates towards their pre-clinical discovery efforts. As a critical team member, you will be a primary contributor towards advancing their work in RNA design, establishing new characterization methods, and supporting departmental efforts for in vitro and in vivo evaluations.

Responsibilities

What will you be doing? * Synthesizing and analyzing mRNAs and mRNA components * Purifying RNA using a variety of methods (chromatographic, precipitation, TFF) to be used in research and pre-clinical evaluation * Writing and reviewing SOPs and technical documents * Developing, optimizing and troubleshoot novel methods towards RNA production and characterization * Closely collaborating with various scientists both within the group and other R&D departments * Independently planning and executing experiments, data analysis and interpretation * Delivering reproducible and impactful results in a fast-paced environment * Maintaining thorough electronic lab notebooks and documentation records and present findings to multi-disciplinary teams in various oral and written formats * This position is a full-time and on-site role.

As an early start-up, there are several characteristics which our client is seeking in a future team member: * Execution-focused who can pivot in a dynamic environment * Self-driven and independent towards achieving team milestones * Creative and positive when facing challenges * Detail-oriented with excellent communication skillsMust-have * Bachelor’s or Master’s with 5-8+ years of industry experience and degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or closely related fields.  * Expertise with synthesizing mRNA using in-vitro transcription * Experience and/or working understanding of common techniques used to analyze oligonucleotides, such as PAGE and agarose gel electrophoresis, CE methods, immunoblots, etc. * Hands-on experience with performing and optimizing enzymatic assays * Excellent written and oral communication skillsNice-to-have * Experience purifying (anion exchange, reversed phase, size exclusion chromatography and TFF) nucleic acids * Strong knowledge of nucleic acid chemistry, nucleic acid structure-activity relationships and safety profiles is desirable How will you grow?
