Job Description
The CMC Team in Cambridge is looking for a Scientist to work in the Analytical Development team to design and implement ELISA and ddPCR-based analytical techniques for RBCEVs. Reporting to the Associate Director of Analytical Development, this position will have high visibility in collaborating with the Research team to characterize high-priority samples going into in vivo studies, and developing additional assays for product characterization in later stages.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute ELISA-based and ddPCR-based analytical methods for the characterization of loaded and unloaded RBCEVs
- Mentor junior colleagues concerning assay development and data interpretation
- Generate, interpret, and analyze data
- Contribute to analytical method qualification/validation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Participate in presentations, reports, patent filings, and external communications
- Support the continued creation and expansion of company’s intellectual property
Required Skills
- An analytical development scientist with Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering and 5-7 years of experience in an industry setting, or a Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of experience in an industry setting
- Experience with ELISA assay development in a variety of detection formats and ddPCR assay development are both required
- Cross-functional interaction with the Research group for data interpretation and initial assay transfer is an essential component of this role
- Willingness to explore and learn new analytical methods
- Knowledge of gene therapy/nucleic acid delivery/extracellular vesicles is an advantage
- Team oriented and highly motivated
