A Research Technician I position is available in the Pouchelon Lab at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. Our lab investigates the nature and nurture mechanisms involved in the development of cortical neural circuits and their alterations in neurodevelopmental disorders. More specifically, we focus on the various neuromodulator cues that neurons in early development are exposed to and their effect on the establishment of excitation/inhibition circuits.
Position Responsibilities
The technician will play a crucial role in the animal colony management, the maintenance of experimental records and the laboratory organization. They will also perform experiments to contribute to the success of our research projects. While the lab fosters a strong team-oriented environment, you will be expected to show proactive problem-solving skills and to transition to independent work quickly.
Position Requirements
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in biology or related discipline.
Skills and experience: The ideal candidate would have prior experience in a research lab and a cellular, molecular biology or animal behavior background. We are seeking for candidates with excellent organizational and communication skills, meticulous attention to details and strong sense of integrity. A two-year commitment is preferred.

The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
