Job Number: 36388

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated Research Associate or Senior Research Associate to support preclinical development efforts across our CNS-focused therapeutic programs. This is a hands-on position ideal for individuals who are passionate about translational science and eager to contribute to the advancement of innovative brain-targeted treatments.

In this role, you will be instrumental in conducting in vivo pharmacology studies, processing biological samples, and generating bioanalytical data that will directly guide lead optimization, efficacy assessments, and IND-enabling studies. The selected candidate will join a collaborative, cross-functional team of scientists and will have significant opportunities to build technical, analytical, and project-related expertise in a dynamic biotech setting.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and support in vivo studies in rodents, including compound administration (IV, IP, SC), blood sampling, perfusion, and tissue collection.
  • Prepare biological samples (blood, brain, CSF, peripheral tissues) for downstream analyses.
  • Perform quantitative bioanalytical assays—such as ELISA, qPCR, and immunohistochemistry—to evaluate drug exposure and tissue distribution.
  • Maintain thorough, accurate, and timely records in electronic lab notebooks, adhering to internal quality standards.
  • Analyze experimental data, present findings to project teams, and assist in protocol development and troubleshooting efforts.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional research teams, delivering high-quality data and scientific input to inform program strategy and decision-making.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biology, pharmacology, neuroscience, biochemistry, or a related life science field.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on laboratory experience in a biotech, pharmaceutical, or academic translational research environment; industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Skilled in rodent in vivo techniques, including compound administration (IV/IP/SC), blood collection, necropsy, and tissue harvesting.
  • Experience with bioanalytical assays such as ELISA, qPCR, or histological techniques; prior work with brain tissue is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and organizational capabilities, with a commitment to scientific rigor and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting, manage multiple experiments simultaneously, and deliver high-quality data within tight deadlines.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with CNS biology, neurodegenerative disease models, or biologic therapeutics (e.g., antibodies, oligonucleotides, peptides) is advantageous.
