Job Description
We seek a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join our exciting lab within the Division of Nutritional Sciences at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. Our research mission focuses on understanding basic mechanisms underlying the age-dependent decline in metabolic processes, including obesity, thermogenesis, and type 2 diabetes. Our NIH-funded lab uses innovative mouse models coupled with physiological, phenotypical, histological imaging, and cellular and molecular biology techniques to study disease states. The currently funded project focuses on the decline of beige fat development in the context of aging, obesity, and environmental temperatures.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. In addition, candidates should be motivated, independent, and enthusiastic about developing a research career and lab environment. The preferred candidate should have research experience in mouse physiology, metabolism, adipose tissue biology, and fundamental cell biology. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team of scientists and will be able to develop their research projects. In addition, the candidate will join a robust intellectual environment at Cornell University and will have access to state-of-the-art instruments and facilities.
