Postdoctoral Research Fellow – Cancer Genomics & RNA Biology
Our lab, part of the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center at Georgetown University, conducts cutting-edge research in genomic and biochemical approaches to understanding signal-induced transcription regulation and RNA biology in cancer. Our research explores the regulatory roles of RNAs in gene expression and the impact of Intrinsically Disordered Proteins on transcriptional regulation, translating these fundamental discoveries into groundbreaking cancer therapies. We seek a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our dynamic team, where they will lead independent research projects and mentor junior lab members. Ideal candidates will hold a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences or a related field, with at least one first-author peer-reviewed publication in a reputable journal. Expertise in molecular biology, biochemistry, microscopy, or genomic tools is required. A research background in cancer, aging, or developmental biology with computational experience will be highly advantageous.
The successful candidate will actively engage in molecular cloning, protein expression, purification, high-resolution live-cell imaging, biophysical experiments, genomic assays, and CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing and screening. This position offers a competitive salary following NIH regulations, ranging from $61K – $70K per year, along with a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, and life insurance.
