Job Summary
One Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available in the field of nanomedicine for brain/cancer targeted drug delivery in the Department of Drug Discovery and Biomedical Sciences at the University of South Carolina. Applicants should have a PhD degree in Polymer Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Neurosciences, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or other related field with previous research experience in drug delivery, nanomedicine, and biomaterials. Experience with animal experiments in Alzheimer’s disease, traumatic brain injury, stroke, or brain tumor models is a plus. Competitive applicants should be highly self-motivated and with a strong publication record. Duties
– Contribute to the lab’s research on developing novel drug delivery systems for central nervous system diseases and cancer-targeted therapy.

– Conduct experiments using nanotechnology, cell biology, CNS disease model, cancer model, and animal behavior.

– Collaborate with team members on scientific projects

– Train graduate and undergraduate students

– Write research papers and reports for publication

– Present findings at conferences and scientific meetings

Experience
– PhD in a Polymer Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Neurosciences, or other related field with previous research experience in drug delivery.
– Strong background in animal experiments in Alzheimer’s disease, traumatic brain injury, stroke, or brain tumor models is a plus.
– Excellent communication and teamwork skills
