Job Description
The laboratory of Dr. Anupam Patgiri in the Department of Pharmacology and Chemical Biology at Emory School of Medicine (https://patgirilab.org) is actively seeking a motivated postdoctoral fellow to work in the areas of immunometabolism and mitochondrial biology. The postdoctoral fellow will investigate (a) the approaches to modulate the levels of immunosuppressive metabolites in the tumor-immune microenvironment to enhance the cytotoxicity of T-cells and macrophages and/or (b) the approaches to restore mitochondrial homeostasis in disease. The primary objectives of these projects are to develop effective therapies for cancer and mitochondrial diseases. The fellow will have the opportunity to receive training in LCMS-based metabolomics using the Patgiri lab’s Agilent 6546 QTOF high-resolution LCMS. Candidates could be PhD in any area of biomedicine with training in mammalian cell culture, molecular biology, and protein biochemistry. Experience in mass spectrometry-based metabolomics is strongly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
– PhD in biochemistry, cell, molecular, immunology, or chemical biology.
– Expertise in protein biochemistry, mammalian cell culture, and molecular biology
– Excellent analytical and organizational skills
– Ability to work independently and as a team member
