Job Description

The Walczak group at the University of Colorado Boulder invites applications for full-time postdoctoral research fellowship positions, supported by NIH funding, to investigate molecular mechanisms underlying neurodegeneration and the role of glycosylation in Alzheimer’s disease. As an interdisciplinary laboratory, the Walczak group employs a diverse range of chemical, biophysical, and molecular biology tools to study aberrant cellular processes implicated in AD pathology. The successful candidate will join a thriving academic environment with ample opportunities for interaction and collaborative research with investigators focused on neurodegeneration. Additionally, the position offers the potential for career development and growth in the fields of chemical biology and biophysics.

Key Qualifications:
–        PhD in Chemical Biology, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Molecular Biology, or a related field
–        Proficiency in basic molecular biology and protein chemistry techniques
–        Experience with mammalian cell cultures (including hiPSCs) is highly desirable but not required
–        Experience with structural biology methods (cryoEM) is a plus but not required
–        Strong publication record demonstrating research excellence
–        Fluent in English (written and oral) with strong scientific writing skills
–        Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
