Job Description

The Ting Zhang Lab in the Department of Molecular Microbiology at Washington University School of Medicine is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join our research team. The successful candidate will investigate the functions of bile metabolites induced by bacterial infection.  We aim to advance our understanding of how infection-stimulated bile metabolites influence intestinal defense mechanisms and disease outcomes. This work involves a multidisciplinary approach, including next-generation sequencing, bacterial genetics, host genetics and metabolomics.

 

Key Responsibilities

Conduct independent and collaborative research in host-pathogen interaction.
Design and execute experiments, analyze data, and interpret results.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of researchers and students.

Qualifications

Ph.D. in Microbiology, Cell biology, Biochemistry or other related discipline.
Extensive expertise in mammalian cell culture and bacterial genetics.
Excellent communication, writing, and teamwork skills.
