Job Title: Postdoctoral Fellow – Gene regulation

Job Number: 69529

Location: La Jolla, US

Job Description

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position to join the lab of Dr. Francesca Telese in the Department of Psychiatry at the UC San Diego School of Medicine.

Dr. Telese’s research program is primarily focused on studying cell type-specific gene regulatory mechanisms that contribute to the susceptibility and development of psychiatric disorders, such as addiction, in animal models. A major goal of the lab is to generate novel hypotheses that can be tested using functional genetic tools to elucidate unknown disease mechanisms and to identify novel therapeutic targets.

We seek candidates with strong molecular and bioinformatics skills.

Successful candidates will be expected to characterize molecular and epigenetic changes induced by psychoactive drugs. Successful applicants will use cutting-edge methods, including single-cell genomics and massive parallel reporter assays. The candidate will work independently but cooperatively with the Principal Investigator and other research scientists involved in the project.

UCSD is committed to build a culturally diverse and inclusive environment. Applications from female and minority candidates are strongly encouraged.

Please send a cover letter describing your research interest and fit for this position, a recent CV, and contact information of at least two references.

Application Deadline: 2023-12-15
