Job Title: Postdoctoral Fellow (Gene regulation in cancer and aging)
Job Number: 66720
Location: Washington, D.C, US
Are you passionate about exploring signal-induced gene regulation in normal and cancerous cells? Do you have a keen interest in utilizing cutting-edge genomics and microscopy techniques to investigate spatial gene control using mammalian cells and mouse models? If so, consider joining our team of scientists dedicated to unraveling the intricacies of gene control and advancing cancer therapeutics.
We’re currently welcoming applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow position focusing on the role of mammalian non-coding genome in signal-activated gene programs. This project will employ a diverse array of experimental tools, including NGS-based chromatin analyses, high-resolution imaging, CRISPR perturbations, small molecule screening, and various biochemical techniques. The research spans both in vitro systems and vertebrate model organisms, offering a multidisciplinary approach to help candidates gain expertise in cutting-edge technologies and foster independent and innovative thinking.
Eligibility: Hold a Ph.D. in biological sciences and preferably have experience in molecular biology, genomics, or animal models. Experience in computational tools for genomics data analysis will be an advantage. A strong track record of peer-reviewed publications as the first author in internationally recognized journals is essential.
This position presents dedicated mentorship and opportunities for scientific and professional growth in the vibrant scientific environment of the D.C, Maryland, and Virginia triangle. Georgetown University provides excellent benefits packages for both individuals and families.
