Job Description

Multiple NIH-funded postdoctoral associate positions are available in the Wang laboratory.

 

The postdoctoral associates will conduct scientific research in the following areas:

Genome engineering in unconventional animal models (e.g., golden Syrian hamster, guinea pig, Peromyscus, naked mole rat, cotton rat, etc.), as well as livestock species (e.g., cattle, sheep, goats, alpacas, and equines) for biomedical and agricultural applications.
Development of assisted reproduction techniques, including but not limited to somatic cell nuclear transfer, pronuclear injection, embryo transfer, genome editing via oviductal nucleic acid delivery (GONAD), and genome editing in oogonial stem cells (OSCs) and spermatogonial stem cells (SSCs).
Chicken gene editing and transgenesis aimed at improving disease resistance and production performance.
Establishment and characterization of embryonic stem (ES) cells, induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells, and spermatogonial stem cells (SSCs) in both model species and livestock species.
In addition, the postdoctoral associate will be responsible for writing scientific manuscripts for publication and assisting the Principal Investigator (PI) with writing grant proposals and patent applications.

 

Qualifications

Ph.D. in a relevant field
Strong research background in assisted reproduction techniques, genome engineering, and/or stem cells.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
