Job Title: Postdoc in plant protein-protein interaction regulation
Job Number: 81078
Location: Pullman, US
Job Description
The Laboratory of Dr. Cecilia Rodriguez-Furlan in the School of Biological Sciences (SBS) at Washington State University (WSU) is recruiting another highly motivated Postdoctoral fellow interested in endomembrane trafficking and plant stress responses. This position is supported for 2 years with extensions of up to 5 years.
Research: We studied cellular stress responses orchestrated by key components of endocytic and autophagic pathways. Balancing these two pathways is crucial for cell survival. Our lab employs molecular and cell biology approaches, including proteomics, genetics, advanced microscopy, and bioinformatics. The postdoc will be performing experiments to uncover essential protein-protein interactions that regulate endomembrane traffic, whose coordination is essential for responses to biotic and abiotic stresses during plant development.
Qualifications:
• Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Plant science, molecular biology, or a relevant discipline
• Strong experience in plant molecular biology and proteomics
• Familiarity working with Arabidopsis
• Excellent communication skills in both oral and written English are expected.
• Previous experience in confocal microscopy is advantageous.
• Successful candidates will be expected to work independently and collaboratively in the lab between collaborating labs.
Our laboratory has a diverse group of postdoc, graduate, and undergraduate researchers. In SBS, an environment of collaborative faculty work in diverse research fields, including physiology, organismal and evolutionary biology, population and ecological genetics, systematics, ecology, development, and reproduction. Plant science research at SBS is central to the larger plant science community across WSU. There are more than 80 plant research faculty at WSU from at least eight departments spanning multiple colleges that converge at the molecular plant science program.
