Job Description

One postdoctoral position is available in the Molecular Virology Laboratory of the Department of Veterinary Science in the College of Agriculture, Food and Environment at the University of Kentucky. The successful candidates will be a highly motivated individual who is able to independently carry out project that study the replication, transmission, and pathogenesis mechanisms of bovine influenza A and D viruses using a multidisciplinary approach. The other potential projects include the novel vaccine development for animal rotaviruses as well as utilization of B cell technology for developing potent monoclonal antibody cocktail to treat neonatal animal diseases. Applicants should have a strong background in molecular virology, virus-host interaction, immunology/antibody research, and animal model. Experience with reverse genetics system is a strong plus. The applicant must have accomplished a Ph.D. program in Virology or related field in biomedical sciences in order to apply.
