Job Description

The Mudd lab *is seeking a highly motivated, independent and creative person with background in immunology and HIV-1 reservoir biology to spearhead a nonhuman primate study focused on HIV-1 cure. Our ultimate goal is to understand the mechanisms governing the persistence of HIV-1. Specifically, the project will evaluate the role of cellular proliferation in maintaining the reservoir and administer anti-proliferative drug regmiens to SIV-infected NHPs with the goal of limiting long-term SIV persistence.

The Mudd Lab offers a collaborative, rigorous, and fun research environment with strong integration between wet and dry labs. The position of Research Scientist is an individual holding a Ph. D or equivalent terminal degree who will play a major role in leading the project in collaboration with the PI and external collaborators. The rank of research scientist is a staff appointment, with a salary range between $55,000-$65,000 and for international applicants, the ability to apply via the H1B Visa program.

Qualified candidates should have:

· PhD/MD/DVM in any of the following: Immunology, Infectious Disease, Virology, Bioinformatics, Microbiology, or related field.

· Strong publication record and excellent communication skills

· Independence, creativity, and ability to work well with others.

Funding (NIH R01) is currently available to support postdoctoral scholars. Job comes with competitive salary and generous benefits.
