Job Description
We, the Spatial Biodynamics Lab (spatialbiodynamics.org) at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, is looking for a Laboratory Manager to join our exciting journey to observe and decode neural physiology and computation in the living brain. The Spatial Biodynamics Lab is at the intersection of the Medical School, Michigan Neuroscience Institute, Biosciences Initiative, and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Michigan and provides a unique and world’s top interdisciplinary research and training environment. We are located in a state-of-the-art research building complex, North Campus Research Complex.
The successful applicant will be primarily appointed in the Department of Cell & Developmental Biology in the Medical School. The successful applicant will manage our multidisciplinary, neuroscience/neuroengineering-hybrid research laboratory.
Responsibilities*
- Financial management and team management, as part of the laboratory administration. Short-term and long-term strategizing on finance, team, and research related activities and goals in the Spatial Biodynamics Lab.
- Management of lab schedules, including lab meetings, sub-group meetings, and 1-on-1 meetings.
- Purchasing and maintenance of laboratory equipment and supplies.
- Ensuring that all activities are in compliance with organization goals and applicable regulations.
- Management of lab protocols, including animal (mouse) protocol, chemical/biological protocols, and other safety related protocols. Hosting lab-wide and 1-on-1 protocol trainings.
- Help on paper works for grant applications.
- Engaging in performing cell culture preparations.
