Summary
The purpose of the position is to execute programs and supporting the daily operations, maintenance, and repair of pharmaceutical and R&D manufacturing and facility systems. This person will be actively involved in modifications to these systems and must operate the facilities systems in a validated state of control.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining the facilities and process equipment supporting Commercial and Clinical manufacturing, Research and Development and all services supporting these operations 
  • Incumbent will have gained previous knowledge of GMP systems 
  • Incumbent will work with a team to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and pursue changes and upgrades to the systems and processes as warranted. 
  • Specify and recommend building equipment modifications to improve safety, reliability and operability of the site facilities. 
  • Work to ensure that customers, partners and other stakeholders are at all times abreast of key developments, opportunities and risks by driving regular communication and information-sharing. 
  • Generate and implement corrective action plans for facility system repairs, replacements and modifications. 
  • Assure completion of maintenance work orders in a timely manner. 
  • Work in a culture of inclusion and focus on safety and avoidance of job-related injuries. 
  • Maintain a state of compliance, updating maintenance and operations SOPs for improved schedule alignment and equipment uptime.

Required Skills

Education And Experience

  • 2-4 years of relevant maintenance experience required 
  • 2+ years of experience managing facilities under GMP regulatory compliance required 
  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field a plus
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance practices and procedures for equipment such as: boilers, chillers, air handlers, HVAC direct expansion systems, cooling towers, pure steam generators, Water for Injection stills, Water for Injection pumps, autoclaves, heat exchangers, security systems, electrical distribution systems, fire protection systems, clean-in-place systems, classified air systems, RODI systems, emergency generators, fume exhaust systems, etc 
  • Familiarity with common pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment, such as liquid filling machines, stoppering machine, capping machines, vial washers, dehydrogenation ovens, etc. 
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities with a high degree of self-motivation. Ability to work both independently and team oriented 
  • Trained in cGMP operations for pharmaceutical, biotechnology or medical devices manufacturing 
  • Knowledgeable of aseptic gowning and cleaning techniques 

Physical Demands

  • May be required to respond after hours and work extended shifts to support completion of planned or resolution of unplanned events impacting site operations. 
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds. 
  • Job will require accessing small spaces to assess mechanical issues and stand or walking for long periods of time. 
  • Job will require long periods of time sitting in front of a computer.
