Job Description
The Director, US Congress Strategy leads the development and execution of scientific presence at key US neurology, immunology, and payer congresses. This role drives cross-functional alignment across Medical Affairs, Commercial, and Field teams to shape and deliver congress strategy. Responsibilities include planning symposia, booth content, educational activities, and related engagement opportunities. This role reports to the VP, Integrated Medical Capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and lead US congress strategy in collaboration with cross-functional teams across key therapeutic areas
- Oversee the Congress Strategy Community, guiding tactical execution of Medical Affairs congress plans
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to deliver industry-sponsored symposia and educational programs
- Coordinate congress activities with Medical Affairs, Field Medical, Commercial, and Clinical teams to ensure a unified presence
- Align with global Congress Strategy Team to support sponsorships and ensure consistent representation across programs
- Keep internal teams informed of Medical Affairs congress activities
- Manage sponsorship requests and ensure alignment with strategic goals
- Foster collaboration across related functions (e.g., Digital, Medical Education, Medical Review)
- Work with leadership and stakeholders to develop and manage the congress-related Medical Affairs budget

- Experience planning and executing scientific symposia
- Ability to translate scientific content into key educational needs
- Familiarity with agency collaboration for high-quality congress deliverables
- Experience with MLR processes and regulatory compliance in Medical Affairs
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- PharmD, PhD, MD, or equivalent experience in Life Sciences
- 10+ years in biopharma, leading congress-related scientific activities
- Background in scientific content development, especially in neurology, immunology, or rare disease
- Proven project management skills, including budgets and timelines
- Willingness to travel up to 25%, domestic and international
