Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of IT Operations to lead our organization’s cloud-centric IT strategy and operations. As the Director, you will be responsible for leveraging cloud-based technologies to optimize the company’s processes while ensuring data security and compliance. Your expertise will drive the adoption of scalable and innovative cloud solutions to enable our organization’s growth and scientific breakthroughs.
Responsibilities
Cloud Technology Strategy:
- Develop and execute the organization’s cloud technology strategy, aligned with the biotech industry’s best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and evaluate cloud-based solutions that support research, development, manufacturing, and data management processes.
Cloud Infrastructure Management:
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure, platforms, and services to support scientific workflows, data analysis, and collaboration.
- Ensure high availability, performance, and security of cloud environments, leveraging best-in-class tools and practices.
Data Security and Compliance:
- Develop and implement robust data security and privacy measures, adhering to regulatory requirements such as HIPAA, GDPR, and industry-specific standards.
- Implement identity and access management controls, encryption mechanisms, and data governance practices to safeguard sensitive data.
- Conduct regular audits, assessments, and vulnerability testing to mitigate risks and maintain compliance.
Team Leadership:
- Build a high-performing IT team with expertise in cloud technologies, ensuring a strong focus on innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Foster a culture of knowledge sharing, professional growth, and keeping up-to-date with cloud trends and emerging technologies.
Vendor and Partner Management:
- Establish and maintain relationships with cloud service providers, vendors, and strategic partners, ensuring effective collaboration and leveraging their expertise for successful implementation and support.
- Evaluate and negotiate contracts, service level agreements (SLAs), and pricing models to optimize value and service delivery.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree
- Extensive knowledge of cloud platforms, such as M365, AWS or Azure, with hands-on experience in architecting and managing cloud-based infrastructure and services.
- Strong understanding of the unique challenges and requirements of cloud technology in the biotech industry, including data security, compliance, and scalability.
- Proven experience in leading successful cloud migration and optimization projects, driving efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Solid understanding of data security, privacy regulations, and
- compliance frameworks in the biotech or healthcare industry.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and motivating high-performing teams.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and project management skills.
