Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy that includes identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major sources of funding including Debt, Venture and Angel sources along with strategic partnerships and collaborations

  • Build and maintain relationships with investors, venture capitalists, and other stakeholders to secure funding and support for the company

  • Lead the development of the company's overall strategy, including long-term goals, business plans, and operational plans

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the company's management team and employees

  • Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration to promote the development of new products and technologies

  • Work closely with the scientific team to ensure that the company's research and development activities are aligned with its overall strategy and fundraising goals

  • Manage the company's financial and operational performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting

  • Represent the company to external stakeholders, including investors, government agencies, and industry groups

  • Ensure that the company complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards

  • Leverage a deep understanding of emerging trends in gene editing to ensure that the company remains competitive and relevant with emerging technologies

Required Skills

  • PhD or Master's degree in a relevant field such as biotechnology, Molecular/Cell Biology with a background in business administration

  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in biotech, with a focus on fundraising, preferably at the CEO or executive level

  • Proven track record of successfully raising capital and securing major gifts and grants

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team to achieve ambitious goals and objectives

  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills

  • Deep knowledge of gene editing such as ZFN, TALEN and CRISPR/Cas-based methods

  • Strong business acumen and financial management skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Strong commitment to ethical and responsible conduct
