Responsibilities

Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy that includes identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major sources of funding including Debt, Venture and Angel sources along with strategic partnerships and collaborations

Build and maintain relationships with investors, venture capitalists, and other stakeholders to secure funding and support for the company

Lead the development of the company's overall strategy, including long-term goals, business plans, and operational plans

Provide strategic leadership and direction to the company's management team and employees

Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration to promote the development of new products and technologies

Work closely with the scientific team to ensure that the company's research and development activities are aligned with its overall strategy and fundraising goals

Manage the company's financial and operational performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting

Represent the company to external stakeholders, including investors, government agencies, and industry groups

Ensure that the company complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards

Leverage a deep understanding of emerging trends in gene editing to ensure that the company remains competitive and relevant with emerging technologies
Required Skills
-
PhD or Master's degree in a relevant field such as biotechnology, Molecular/Cell Biology with a background in business administration

At least 10 years of relevant experience in biotech, with a focus on fundraising, preferably at the CEO or executive level

Proven track record of successfully raising capital and securing major gifts and grants

Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team to achieve ambitious goals and objectives

Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills

Deep knowledge of gene editing such as ZFN, TALEN and CRISPR/Cas-based methods

Strong business acumen and financial management skills

Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
