We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Business Development Manager to join our client at its new location in Cambridge, MA. Joining a Global CMO/CDMO at the heart of the RNA manufacturing industry, you will play a critical role in driving business growth by leveraging your technical expertise in mRNA and IVT related products, customer relationship management skills, and industry knowledge. You will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with customers, collaborating with stakeholders, tracking emerging technologies, and contributing to an exciting innovation culture. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, with a strong background in mRNA sciences, excellent communication skills, and a proven technical track record demonstrated by publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Responsibilities

 Develop and nurture strong relationships with customers. Attend meetings as the mRNA subject matter expert and recognize the technical needs of clients. Suggest solutions for their concerns and identify opportunities for new business.
 Build rapport with key external partners, including suppliers, academics, consultants, and industry influencers, to maximize business opportunities.
 Stay up to date with industry trends, and emerging mRNA sector technologies. Determine their potential applications and implications for the organization’s business strategy.
 Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including Sales, Marketing, and Product Development, to gather insights and align on business strategies that meet customer requirements.
 Help to maintain a knowledge base of internal technologies, manufacturing processes, and capabilities. Identify opportunities for innovation and work with internal teams to drive product and process improvements.
 Represent the company at events, conferences, and exhibitions to network, generate leads, and stay informed about market developments. Deliver engaging oral and poster presentations to showcase our capabilities and build brand awareness.
 Provide high quality meeting minutes and reports and contribute content to presentations, posters, white papers and other marketing materials.
 Promote and cultivate an environment of innovation and continuous improvement within the organization. Encourage collaboration, creative thinking, and knowledge sharing within and across teams.

Required Skills

 Ph.D. degree in molecular biology, chemistry, or a related technical field.
 Proven experience working in the mRNA field, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
 In-depth knowledge of mRNA manufacturing processes, technologies, and industry trends.
 Ability to understand complex technical concepts and translate them into compelling value propositions for customers.
 Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
 Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.
 Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to deliver engaging presentations.
 Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently.
 Willingness to travel for customer meetings and conferences.
