Position Overview
ePhective is seeking a world-class Bioinformatician to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing bioinformatics tools and pipelines from the ground up, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, documentation, and maintenance. This role will involve analyzing and interpreting various types of biological data, optimizing DNA sequences, and ensuring the safety and regulatory compliance of drug candidates.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain bioinformatics tools and cloud-based pipelines for analyzing genetic, proteomic, and epigenetic data and ensure tools and pipelines are scalable, efficient, and user-friendly.
• Predict protein structures and protein-protein interactions.
• Optimize DNA sequences for therapeutic purposes.
• Generate and visualize comparative genomic/pangenomic data for different organisms.
• Evaluate the safety and regulatory compliance of drug candidates.
• Keep abreast of the latest developments in bioinformatics, genomics, and phage research to continually improve methods and tools.

Ideal Skillset

• PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genomics, or a related field, or a Master’s degree with substantial relevant work experience.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in academia or industry, with experience in a clinical-stage pharma company being highly preferred.
• Experience applying machine learning techniques to biological data, including knowledge of relevant frameworks.
• Ability to preprocess and manage large datasets for ML applications.
• Experience with cloud computing platforms and workflow management systems.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and familiarity with bioinformatics tools and libraries.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for preparing technical documentation, presentations, reports and thorough code documentation.
