Job Number: 34606

Location: Lexington, MA

Job Description

This position performs laboratory scale development activities for the purification of pre-clinical and cGMP grade rAAV vectors. Data gathered in laboratory scale experiments is used to inform scale-up recommendations for large
scale manufacturing of rAAV material. Downstream purification techniques of interest include filtration, centrifugation, and chromatographic separation of novel AAV capsids. The ability to design test protocols, execute experiments, analyze data, and report results with minimal supervision is important in this position.

 Design and execute experiments for purification of rAAV at laboratory scale.
 Optimize downstream parameters such as purity and yield for unit operations including: depth filtration, membrane filtration, tangential flow filtration, affinity & ion exchange chromatography, and ultracentrifugation.
 Prepare reagents and solutions required for preparative and production scale purification.
 Interpret experimental data and form conclusions which are supported by empirical results.
 Assist in the coordination of pilot and engineering runs to ensure successful scale-up of purification processes.
 Author experimental reports, SOPs, and batch record documents to support technology and/or process transfer initiatives.
 Ability to communicate technical concepts both verbally and in writing.
 Manage and maintain data in an organized manner including timely completion of ELN records.

Required Skills
