The Bordenstein Lab (bordensteinlab.com) in Penn State’s Departments of Biology and Entomology and the One Health Microbiome Center (microbiome.psu.edu) is searching for an organized and fast-paced Research Technologist III (Advanced Professional) to join the team. This role will be instrumental in supporting our studies of the cell biological and biochemical mechanisms of Wolbachia bacterial symbionts in Drosophila melanogaster flies and Aedes aegypti mosquitoes. The position will heavily focus on the use of insect rearing and crosses, viability assays, transgenic expression, genetic editing techniques, fitness assays, reproductive tissue dissections, microscopy, and team management and coordination.
