Job Description

Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Lead & Business Partner (ALBP) will ensure accurate financial support and reporting. The role includes managing supplier finances (CROs, Labs), contract review, and issue resolution. The ALBP will also support Clinical and Operations teams, offering guidance on planning, forecasting, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial partnerships with CROs and Central Labs, managing contracts, requisitions, invoicing, and reconciliations.
• Collaborate with business owners on purchase order spending and supplier management.
• Serve as a strategic partner in financial planning, forecasting, and reporting.
• Review and optimize contracts and procurement to align with financial goals.
• Manage monthly accruals for CROs and Central Labs, ensuring accurate calculations and reconciliations.
• Participate in accounting system implementations and updates, and maintain accounting and procurement policies.
• Conduct internal controls reviews and support month-end close activities.
• Provide additional accounting support as needed.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of accounting experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or finance; advanced degree preferred.
• Strategic mindset with financial insights and recommendations.
• Expertise in accounting best practices and R&D accounting standards.
• Strong integrity, ethical standards, and communication skills.
• Proven ability to engage with and influence leaders.
• Experience in GAAP-based financial reporting and data presentation.
• Ability to excel in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Skilled in problem-solving, advanced Excel, and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with general ledger and procurement systems, preferably D365 and Coupa.
