Must pass 6G Welding Gate test to be hired .
Responsibilities
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Working under the direction and supervision of others; performs welding for stainless and carbon steel pipes.
- Read and interpret work orders, flow sheets, blueprint drawings, vendor specs, and/or P&ID’s to understand issue and to determine required repairs.
- Proficient in TIG welding, mig welding, stick welding
- Performs all types of welding, brazing and soldering repair, replace, and installation of stainless and carbon steel plate and pipe, aluminum, copper and all other metals.
- Proficient in using hand, power and shop tools.
- Process equipment assembly and installation.
- Equipment diagnostics, troubleshooting and problem solving.
- Pipe fitting rigging and equipment installation
- Assist with process equipment assembly and installation.
- Perform lubrication on equipment as needed and directed.
- Complete data entry into the work order system as required.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Required Skills
Position Mission
Welder performs pipe welding/fitting for stainless and carbon steel pipes. Pipe welder will have daily responsibilities to trouble shoot and repair process piping and equipment and perform preventive maintenance on equipment within the facility.
Formal Education / Certification Requirements – Essential Functions
- High school graduate/GED.
- Post-secondary certificate in Welding, Mechanic & Repair Technologies a strong plus.
- Successful completion of skills assessment (math, reading comprehension and gauge reading)
- 3-5 years welding experience preferably in an industrial environment. TIG route experience a plus.
- Demonstrated knowledge of all misc. fittings, butt weld, socket weld, threaded, sweat fittings
- Overtime hours will be necessary to cover emergencies, preventative maintenance, holidays, vacations, sick time, etc.
- Ability and proficiency in using: hand tools, power and shop tools, tape measure, wrenches, etc.

Physical Requirements / Working Environment and Conditions
- Tasks performed are exposed to all weather conditions.
- Require the usage of personal protective equipment (PPE) and may take place in confined spaces.
- Duties involve frequent walking, standing, lifting, pushing, pulling and carrying objects up to 40lbs.
- Climb stairs and ladders to heights of 120 feet.
- Lifting of equipment up to and exceeding 40lbs to perform maintenance duties
- Turn valves, move handles, work overhead.
- Support TRT’s annual shutdown – OT will be necessary
